Thanks so much for stopping by. Before you get any further, I wanted to give a little background to this blog o’ mine. Here’s the deal - I consider myself a storyteller. To me, photography is the art of documenting people’s lives, the big moments and the little details!!!
Pretty images are GREAT and all, but sometimes you want more than just a glimpse. That’s what these digital pages are for!! So if you’re the type that’s looking for the full scoop, read on my friend. Who knows… maybe your story will end up here next!!!
Amanda and Joe’s Garfield Park Conservatory Wedding
Back in May I had the amazing opportunity to second shoot this joyful wedding alongside Courtney Dueppengiesser. Ever since moving to Chicago, I’ve wanted to visit the Garfield Park Conservatory, so being able to photograph Amanda and Joe’s wedding day there was basically a dream come true!!
One thing I love about second shooting is working with the guys. When I’m the lead photographer I’m usually spending more time with the bride and her bridesmaids. Being a second photog for the day I always have a blast hanging out with the groomsmen, and these guys were no exception! Joe gifted them all customized Yeti coozies which came in handy for staying cool (it was a 90+ degree day and we were in a humid GREENHOUSE after all!!)
Amanda looked stunning in her lace gown and dainty floral headpiece (any bride that wears flowers in her hair is my kinda girl!!) Her and Joe’s first look made my heart melt, they were SO ready to see each other and their joy shined through the whole day. It was clear how excited these two were to be married!
Guests were able to wander about the conservatory during cocktail hour, and afterward dinner and dancing took place in what felt like a tropical paradise. This whole day had destination wedding vibes, and the best part was we didn’t even have to travel far to get there.
Court, thanks for being your amazing self and bringing me along for this special day!
